| here you go. - Spoiler:
Minecraft XBLA DIY
Hello all, with the release of minecraft xbox 360 edition on the 9th may, I felt like having a go at recreating the experience on the pc, through mods.
First of all, to get the controls down, I used the trusty xpadder program to map WSAD to the left analogue stick, mouse movement to the right. I mapped left and right bumpers to the mouse scroll (up/down). For the crafting changes, I wrote my own – the basically copy that of the XBLA edition. It also only displays inventory, rather than allowing interaction. Armour is automatically equipped, and slots 1 and 2 are assigned to a diamond pick and sword.Sorry, this mod is not for general release, as it is VERY unstable, however IF I make It better I MAY release it. This simplified crafting takes some time to get used to, but it feels natural after a while. For my version at least, only items you have the required materials to make are displayed, unlike the XBLA edition. For Right/left click I mapped to left and right triggers respectively. Crouch was mapped to clicking in the right stick. “I” my inventory key was mapped to X, and escape was mapped to “Y”. Jump was of course mapped to “A”.
I spawned in my world, and immediately broke my door. I forgot that right click was on the left trigger. After about an hour, I decided to toss in the towel. My worlds had been designed around flymod, and I just couldn’t navigate properly. The controls are intuitive, but Just aren’t compatible with a modded world. That was my DIY experience. My xpadder profile is available on request, as I have it configured differently now.
